Argentine Fruit Imports

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has recognized the central and southern municipalities of Mendoza, including Tupungato, Tunuyán, San Carlos, Malargüe, San Rafael and General Alvear, as fruit fly free.

Fruit imported from this area will be admissible without ‘cold treatment’ as long as the shipment is accompanied by a Phytosanitary Certificate with the additional declaration, “Meets the provisions of 7CFR 319.56-5”. This provision is meant for fruits and vegetables originating from a free of specific pest or pests area.

Fruits included in this provision are cherries and stone fruit such as peaches, plums, pears and apricots.

Crowley will continue to closely monitor the situation and will provide any further updates. If you have any questions please contact your sales representative Customized Brokers at 305-471-8989.
