Hurricane Sandy Affects NE Terminals: Update #6 – 11/2/2012
Dear Valued Customer,
Please note the following update concerning the effects from Hurricane Sandy.
Terminals: The following terminals in NY/NJ remain closed today, Friday 11/2/12
NYCT – New York Container Terminal
PNCT – Port Newark Container Terminal
CSAV has advised that as a result of Hurricane Sandy affecting the Port of New York, they have not been able to complete their scheduled port call and will be forced to send their vessels to alternative ports. This situation, which has been caused beyond their control and responsibility, entails a force majeure event. We would like to inform you that all shipments with final destination New York, M/V Cap Jervis 61NB /62 SB, will be discharge in the port of Philadelphia, ETA November 2nd, and thus, they invite you to take delivery of the cargo in such port. If you would like them to make other arrangements for your cargo, please let them know as soon as possible and they will inform you of the extra costs involved with such arrangements in due time.
