IMMEDIATE UPDATE- FAVIR and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual 03-2015-47

The FAVIR database and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual have been updated.

The reason for the update is to suspend the importation of various fruits and vegetables from the Dominican Republic (Federal Order DA-2015-14, effective March 18, 2015). Due to detections of Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata) in the Dominican Republic, consignments of avocado, clementine, grape, grapefruit, lemon, litchi, longan, sapote (mamey), mandarin, mango (into U.S. Virgin Islands), orange, papaya, pepper, pummelo, tangelo, tangerine, tomato, and tuna (cactus fruit) are not authorized entry into the United States. Import permits will not be issued.

Changes in the manual are on pages 3-6, 3-8, 3-96, and 3-97.
