CBP announces COBRA increase

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have announced that effective October 1st, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) will increase by 4.886 percent to adjust for inflation. Fees affected by this increase include:

  • “Express Consignment Carrier/Centralized Hub Facility Fee, Per Individual Waybill/Bill of Lading Fee,” which increases to $1.05.

  • “Minimum” and “Maximum” Merchandise Processing Fees which have increased to $26.22 and $508.70 respectively.

  • “Informal Entry or Release; Automated and Not Prepared by CBP Personnel” Fee which increases to $2.10.
