Chilean Customs – National Strike May 20th, 2015 – Update
We have received the following information regarding the Chilean Customs National strike. Please keep in mind this may cause delays in cargo arrival.
Please be advised of the following port status in Chile, regarding the Customs strike started on May 20
– Arica: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Iquique: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Tocopilla: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Mejillones and Antofagasta: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Caldera and Chañaral: They are working under normal condition.
– Huasco: They are working under normal condition.
– Coquimbo: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Los Vilos: Port closed due to swell condition. Customs would work under ethical shifts once the next vessel arrives.
– Quintero: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Valparaíso: Customs went on strike on May 20
– San Antonio: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Talcahuano: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Puerto Montt: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Chacabuco: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Punta Arenas: Customs went on strike on May 20
– Santiago Airport: Customs went on strike on May 20th 0:00hrs. There are ethical shifts only for medicines and perishable products. Passenger Terminals are working normally.
“Ethical shift” term means that Customs would provide skeleton staff in order to allow cargoes to come in/out in port/airport.
