Effective Today: APHIS Agricultural Quarantine and Inspection Program Fees

We would like to remind you of the new agricultural quarantine inspections (AQI) fee that became effective today, December 28, 2015. In October, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) published a final rule in the Federal Register to recoup the costs of conducting agricultural quarantine inspections at U.S. ports. The fee for AQI treatment services will be phased in over the next 5 years, with the USDA charging $47 per treatment during this first year of implementation
